Some of the things I got for Christmas! - Ashlea x

Some of the things I got for Christmas!
From my wonderful Mum and Step-dad I received the Nars 'Love Rite' gift set and I know it was £38 something because I asked for it, the set included:
A blush duo in 'desire' and 'amour', both colours look lovely all all skin tones and are very very  pigmented meaning they will last alot longer than a normal blush, the outer shell of the blush is very strong meaning no cracking;

Illuminator in 'Orgasm', and is great for leaving a shimmery peach tint on your cheeks and perfect for those of you who may have discolouration on your cheeks;

Lip gloss in 'turkish delight', it is a lovely baby pink nude colour and goes lovely with the pink blush;

Lipgloss in 'greek holiday', it is a light peachey brown and looks very natural when worn, also is not sticky at all (which is always a plus!)

Next is this 88 colour eye shadow palette, I'm not sure what brand or where this can be purchased as it was a gift from my Nan, but all the colours on the palette I will use because they are neutral, they can be used for a subtle look or to even build up a perfect smokey eye.
Next is the Juicy couture La fleur gift set, it included a 30ml bottle of juicy couture perfume which smells absolutely lovely and it's safe to say I will only be using this on special occasions because of the tiny bottle and amout you get, also in the set is a 125ml juicy couture Viva la juicy body lotion, which is really thick and rich and a perfect treatment to dry skin on your body.
This lovely Fearne Cotton Nail varnish set I received from My Auntie included 6 different colours including (L to R) Burnt Out, Coral Island, Lady Grey, Cotton Candy, Golden Touch and Lemon Drizzle. The Polishes are all lovely quality and only really require 2 coats to provide opaque colour.

I received these two caviar nail sets from my Mum and step-dad in my stocking, they are from Claires and were £5 each (because my Mum was silly enough to leave the price tag on) the first if multi coloured and the second is plain black, they are really easy to apply and look great when on!

New ear cuff :)

New Ear Cuff

I'm really exited to show you all my new ear cuff isn't it so cool :) ? I bought of an online website called body jewellery for around £3 and I really like it - it's quirky but fashionable at the same time :) x

Monthly hair care favourites - December

Monthly hair care favourites - December

My first monthly favourites and we thought We'd start off with hair products and if you're lucky you might even get a cosmetics/make-up one later on in the month,
The first two products are Ashlea's and the second two are Jessi's. :)

(Ashlea) First I thought I'd start off with Aussie's 'Lucious Long Leave in Conditioner'
"For hair that's pinning for protection" with Australian Eucalyptus extract and Avocado oil it leaves you with extremely soft feeling hair. Throughout the months I have used this it has really helped to repair my damaged split ends done my drying/straightening, leaving them feeling less straw like and more like hair. Another plus to this product is the detangling, after using this it only takes me a couple of seconds to comb through my matted mess.
Don't miss out and go and pick up this amazing product in Boots for ONLY £4.99!
http://www.boots.com/en/Aussie-Luscious-Long-Leave-in-Conditioner-250ml_38756/

(Ashlea) My next product is an absolute classic and I'm sure the majority of beauty obsessed individuals own one of the varieties of it, thats right its Batiste's Dry shampoo. Admittedly it doesn't leave your hair with the same softness as your average wash but it does do a pretty good job. It banishes oil and boosts body and the fullness of your hair. However, one downside to this product is the white tint it leaves on your scalp, so make sure you rub it in to make sure there's no visible white powdery stuff left.
The particular one I own is the jumbo size 400ml in tropical and it smells soooooooo good (like Coconut to be precise)!
You can pick this up in pretty much all drugstores for very cheap as well!
http://www.boots.com/en/Batiste-Dry-Shampoo-Tropical-Coconut-Exotic-400ml_1228553/

(Jessi) My most used and all time favourite "hair care" product this month has got to be the dove hair therapy leave in conditioning spray, it is simply amazing (casually adding in lyrics from trey songz) it has a very creamy texture and really does keep my hair from feeling knot resistant and maintain shine.I use this product once/twice a day depending on the situation, i generally use this product after washing my hair, on the weekend i wash my hair in the morning meaning i will apply the product twice a day but on weekdays i tend to wash my hair of an evening meaning i will only use the product once a day. To apply the product onto damp hair (after being towel dried) i will spray 3/4 squirts into my hand and gently run it through my hair making sure it is evenly applied to avoid extra shine to certain areas, if you have long hair you will find that this will also work fairly well as a tangle teaser and help to ease knots, to apply to dry hair i spray 1/2 quirts from arm length and brush into my hair , if you spray it onto your hair too close and to many times you may find that it will leave your hair feeling greasy and over glossy, (short description of product) A sweet smelling (dolly mixture) mist to add natural shine to your hair, this weightless product works wonders and is easily app-liable to damp or dry hair, i cannot recommend this product enough (especially for those of you with longer hair). I LOVE IT although i would advise using conditioner as well as this product :)
purchase from any near drug stores for around £4 (hope you like it as much as i do!)
http://www.boots.com/en/Dove-Hair-Therapy-Damage-Solutions-Complete-Care-Repair-Leave-In-Conditioning-Spray-200ml_1262073/

(Jessi) My second product i have really been loving this month is the avon advanced techniques daily shine, this product suites any hair type and really keeps your hair looking healthy through the day i really love this product after i have used heat onto my hair eg. blow drying, curling and straightening , because using heat does not do the best to your hair and sometimes after using heat on my hair it can leave it looking quite static and frizzy even after straightening so i tend to use this product on it daily to keep it under control and sustaain smoothness and actually looking like ive actually used heat on it not like ive been blown through a hedge backwards (: the smell to the product is quite subtle which is a good thing but there is a noticeable scent to it, this product is currently on sale in avon from £5.00 to £2.50 so if you are interested in this product i advised you picking it up while the sale is on.

Hope you enjoyed our hair care favourites - please check back for more favourites added through the rest of the month (:

ST. TROPEZ Gradual tan set - Review

ST. TROPEZ Gradual tan set product Review.

I bought this set last year.Unfortunately this gift set is no longer available but im going to write you a full review on the separate products as you can buy them as individuals.

What was in the set?

 In the set was a gradual tan mousse 120ml retailing separately at £20.49
Gradual face tan 50ml  retailing separately at £14.39
and finally the ST. TROPEZ lipgloss no prices available as was only available through the set.

Gradual tan mousse  -
Given description by ST. TROPEZ
This super light weight mousse simply glides on to give all skin types a touch of self tan.Infused with conditioning aloe Vera, you'll get a natural looking, Golden colour for effortless glamor, Everyday.Our innovative fragrance technology helps to take away the tell-tale tanning aroma to make way for a beautiful subtle yet refreshing fragrance. Created by ST.TROPEZ the tanning experts you trust to get it right.So whatever your skin type its easy to use for the most natural looking, Ultimate tan.
Texture of the mousse
My personal opinion -
After trying almost every cheap to mid range product on the market I thought I'd invest in supposedly the best tanning product in history (I ended up buying the full gradual tan set) - the promise of no odour also swung it for me. I first applied this product about a year ago I apply with a mitt and only need to use a small amount, It has a lovely sheen to it and glows naturally with movement, The use of tanning really does show but can take up to 2 weeks of daily applying before the colour starts coming through
 It dries very quickly to the skin and leaves a non stick surface although i would advise washing hands after use. I would say overall this product was a god send and after using for a year i am only just coming to the final quarter of the bottle, i will not be going back this was the exact  product i was looking for, The only downside being the price, but it's safe to say I love it!

Gradual tan for face
Given decription by ST.TROPEZ
"This wonderful light, easily absorbed moisturizer cleverly combines serious skin care benefits with a touch of self tan. Infused with soothing aloe vera and antioxidant Vitamin E.The perfect way to gradually build a golden colour everyday. Our innovative fragrance technology helps to take away the tell-tale tanning aroma to make way for a beautiful subtle, Yet refreshing fragrance."
My personal opinion -
I use this product most days as a moisturizer is works wonders it gives you a great natural tan which doesn't dry out the skin, It gives of a fairly pleasant smell which doesn't deteriorate during the day. I very much advise applying this in the evening before bed and once again i do exhort you wash your hands after applying.

Lip Gloss
 The ST.TROPEZ does not have a written description as it is only available with the gift set and does not sell separately.
My personal opinion -
This lipgloss is a lovely touch up to your subtle tan and gives you that extra glowing look but the consistency of the dried product is sticky and gloopy meaning your hair constantly sticks to your lips (not a great look). The colour of the product is a very shimmering light bronze which barely shows up on the lips.
I wouldent recommend this as an everyday product but its defiantly a great extra touch to the gift set.

Please let me know what you think of these products and if you enjoy using them? :) <3

Testers review - Ashlea x

Testers Review
My first tester was L'oreal Paris' Dermo Expertise Revitalift 10 repair BB Cream, with this pack you received 3 sachets, however I used one to test so I could complete this review for you. On the packaging it states that it targets 10 sings of ageing, which basically means it is a rich moisturiser that targets lines and wrinkles, which admittedly I don't tend to worry about as I don't have many lines. When I opened the sachet to try out, I immediately saw the colour difference of the cream compared to my skin and was gutted. On the order form there was no choice of colour/tint, so naively I thought the 'medium tinted/spf 20' would be perfectly fine and just make my skin appear a bit darker and more tanned than usual, however I was very very wrong. It left me looking like I had a bad case of streaky fake tan on just my face (not a good look). I then asked my Mum her opinion of the colour and she told me exactly the same as what I had been thinking. Overall I liked the constancy and pigmentation of the cream, and if it was only a shade lighter than I probably would of taken more of a liking to the product. Unfortunately I think I will probably not be purchasing the full size product at a stee£9.99 for 50ml (Boots).

The next tester I received was this Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer, with this tester you only received one sachet (tight buggars!) so cheekily I ordered one in mine and one in my Mums   name (take note). I have so far only used one sachet and I absolutely love it! It is quite watery which makes it very easy to apply, it leaves your skin feeling really soft and prepares it ready for you to apply your make-up, it also keeps your make-up on and perfected for a lot longer than without it. On my next shopping trip I will definately be purchasing the full size product which is only £4.99 in Superdrug, bargain!

Online christmas gift guide - jessi x

Hi guys! so as you know its coming up for christmas and shopping is nothing but manic i have a few online gift suggestions you might want to choose to buy for someone who you have not yet found a present for (:

 The gift guide is going to be based on beauty related product; so here goes!

The Makeup Artist Professional Color Collection
This is a main gift idea, it is the Estee Lauder Make Up artist Professional Colour collection and this is £250, set includes;
  • Beauty Wallet with interchangeable Eye and Cheek palettes
  • Look Cards for subtle and statement looks
  • Red SlimCase Traveller
  • Deluxe Palettes (x2) with Eye Shadow Applicator and Blush Applicator – 8 shades of Pure Color Eye Shadow in each palette. 1 shade of Pure Color Blush, Bronze Goddess Soft Shimmer Bronzer in each palette
  • Pure Color Gloss in promo package (x1) 2.7ml
  • Pure Color Lipsticks in promo package (x3) - 3.8g
  • Pure Color Intense Kajal Eyeliner in promo size (x2) - 1.11g
  • Sumptuous Extreme Mascara (x1) – 8ml
  • Gentle Eye Makeup Remover (x1) – 100ml
  • 4-pc Makeup Brush Set
I personally do not have this gift set but by reading the reviews i can see that many customers were pleased with there purchase the only of put being the fact that it is at a large price - here our a few customer reviews i found ;

A beautiful good quality case with superb quality products!. I'm not sure I would wish to pay £250 for the product, but then maybe I'm just not used to such premium goodies - I guess if the products do add up to that value, then it is reasonable. I have bought one for my sister and one for myself for christmas at the bargain price, having bought us a bottle of perfume each too....and at £50 for the case, I am more than happy - it is certainly a bargain at that price! A very attractive gift that I know my sister will be delighted with!
Just one issue - the eyeshadow pallettes are very similar in shades to each other - a wider variety of shades across the two pallettes would have been preferable. A minor issue however, as overall this is a fantastic set!
This collection bag comes out every year on offer for £50 (worth £250) with any fragrance purchase however this is my first, but let me tell you it wont be my last. All products are excellent quality and the look cards give great colour match and mixing ideas. Someone get me another one for christmas please.

Greats Gift Set

If you are looking at something with little less expense i highly advise the origins Greats gift set for only £59 -
In this bargain gift set you recieve -

the anti aging eye treatment
anti aging eye serum
cheeks and banishes frothy face wash
ginger burst savory body wash
ginger souffle whipped body cream
starting over anti-erasing moisturizer

I have used most of these products as individuals and they are great to use and do wonders to your skin, i highly recommend any of the above products to anyone who is looking at buying high end eco products at a reasonable price and of great quality.

To purchase this gift set visit ---->  http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Origins+Greats+Gift+Set/171230297,default,pd.html

Lancôme Miniature Fragrances SetThis is a medium gift idea - I have actually purchased this for my mum this christmas and it was on sale for £21 instead of £24 it is the Lancome miniature fragrance set, with this set you recieve 5 mini perfume samples , samples include the tresor mini, lancome mini, tresor midnight rose, and est belle mini.

Unfortunately i was unable to test these products for obvious reasons therefore i cannot give you a full specification of the scents i believe the tresor mini is a floral oriental scent and is classified as "sharp".

I think this is a great gift for a brilliant price, please do let me know in the comments if you would like a full review after testing these products (:

Under £5 stocking filler ideas by Ashlea x

Christmas Presents by Ashlea

A post to show you some of the recent items I picked up when Christmas shopping with my Mum,
all items shown are very affordable and below £5.00, all things shown are good small gifts which could be used to fill a stocking or a christmas box to give as a gift to a friend or family member.
First Present
Here is my first present for my Friend called Tamara, her present includes:
 A black sequinned and lace make-up bag, it is from H&M and was £3.99 and is also available in Silver
http://www.hm.com/gb/product/06289?article=06289-C

I then plan on filling the make-up bag with these (L to R):
Lip Gloss in 'Mademoiselle', Specific colour description- Nude/Pink with tiny Silver and white shimmers and was a total bargain at £0.99, I'm not sure on the quality and pigmentation of this gloss because I haven't owned one myself.

Nail Polish No1 in 'Oh La La', Specific colour description- Coraley Pink with orange shimmers,
it was £1.50 and from H&M. I have owned a few polishes from this collection and they are reasonably pigmented but I have not yet tried this colour but it is very pretty so I thought I'd pick it up for my friend anyway;

Nail Polish No2 in 'Mon Amie', Specific colour description- White/Cream with Gold shimmers, this polish was also £1.50 and from H&M and is a lovely colour for this time of the year and would go with pretty much any outfit;

Lastly and you can't go wrong with Chocolate (unless they're lactose intolerant),
I bought this bag of Galaxy Counters as to just be something little to go with her present, these were £3.00  for two bags in coop (can also get different chocolates).

Next Present
This present is for Jessi (other Co-owner of this blog but she already knows what she's getting so I thought I'd share it anyway
First item is a Marmite Mug, this particular one (because i know you can get these from other places like BHS) is from Tesco and was £5.00

Last item is another bag of Galaxy Counters and as I said above, these were two bags for £3.00.

Hope this gives you some inspiration for gifts if you are completely stuck for ideas,
Ashlea x

What's in my Bag?

I was looking through Zoella's old blog posts and came across her What's in my bag (http://www.zoella.co.uk/2009/03/whats-in-my-bag.html) and decided to do my own, so here it goes.

The bag I'm using at the moment is this old (and a bit tatty) tartan print Burberry bag that was actually given to me by an old lady my Mum works for.
Admittedly I do need to get a new bag because of how scruffy this one now is, so that's what's at the top of my Christmas list. :)
  Picture of what the inside of my bag looks like, also showing the tattyness.
From top left to Right:
Boots free Christmas gift guide I was given yesterday;
Pink Frill lined purse, Primark £4;
Leopard print nail file, received in a gift set so not sure of price etc;
Blue biro pen for emergencies that require a pen;
Travel Phillips Hair brush, came with hair curlers;
One Direction Love Hearts, from Tescos and comes in a big bag £3?;
Chandelier earrings, New look;
Apple headphones, came with my iPhone;

Hope you enjoyed reading.

New Barry M Nail Paint review.

New Barry M nail polishes
On a recent trip to my local Boots store, Me and Jessi purchased a few Barry M Glitter nail paints each (2.99), however because of the latest deal in Boots (Spend over 6.00 and get a free limit edition nail paint) I received this Christmas edition Gold Nail paint. My favourite now is indeed the gold, it is so easy to apply and makes your nails look really pretty.
The first polish is called 'Amethyst Glitter' with chunks of multi-coloured glitter to go with any outfit, the second polish (also the freebie) unfortunately doesn't have a name as it cannot be bought online. Take this opportunity to pick this up as it is limited edition. :)
